With photographic plates and a folding map ( in good order ) to the rear. No wrapper. A UK first edition. The book is sound and tight. The front and back boards are bright, showing the occasional trivial mark. The lettering on the front board is clear and bold. The spine is bright, the spine lettering is bold. The spine is bruised at the top and bottom. The spine is unfaded. The pages are clean and without foxing. The closed page edges are dulled, the top edge is dusty and flecked. The binding is tight – no loose pages or cracked hinges. There is a contemporary gift inscription 9 dated 1899 )on the ffep. A very nice copy of an uncommon title.
